You are what you do everyday, so if you want to become a confident woman, you need to build a routine around it. From the moment you wake up to when you go to bed, you have to be intentional about building your confidence. Whether you’re looking to enhance your self-esteem or refine your mindset, these five daily habits will help you become a more confident woman:
1. Prayer/Meditation:
Taking time to get quiet and communicate with God and listen to your spirit will change your life. The world is such a noisy place that you can find yourself just running someone else’s race if you don’t constantly check in with your creator. God is the ultimate source of confidence because he wants the best for you.
Prayer will help you see yourself through God’s eyes and you will be amazed at your own potential. Meditation helps build self awareness and discipline. The more time you take to be quiet, the more in tune you’ll be with your feelings. To succeed in the world, your inner voice has to be louder than the voices on the outside. Lasting confidence is built from the inside out.
2. Movement/Exercise:
Something as simple as taking daily 15 minute walks will improve your physical, mental and emotional health. Taking walks clears your mind of clutter and boosts your creativity among other things. Exercise in general triggers a release of serotonin, which has been nicknamed “the confidence neurochemical.” I love to take walks in the morning and just connect with nature. I listen to my favorite confidence boosting songs and come back full of ideas and ready to tackle my day. Taking daily walks is an awesome habit to help you become a more confident woman.
3. Self improvement:
Aim to get one percent better each day. Learn something new. Read one page of a book. Watch one TED talk. It doesn’t have to be something big, just take a small step forward. If you get one percent better each day for one year, you’ll end up thirty-seven times better by the end of the year. Confident women know that daily actions add up to big changes so they are deliberate about improving their lives.
4. Fun:
All work and no play makes for a very dull life. Confidence doesn’t mean taking yourself too seriously, it means being comfortable with who you are and accepting yourself completely. So make time for fun, enjoy your life. People who are enjoying their lives are naturally confident.
5. Rest:
In today’s always on, 24/7 world, it’s really difficult for us to rest. Even when we’re asleep, an Instagram notification is enough to wake us up. Don’t do that to yourself. Put your phone away before bed, get a real alarm clock to wake you up. Yes I can feel you rolling your eyes at me, but I’m serious. Have a life off social media. Get some sleep, you’re not batman.
The fear of missing out is keeping you from living your life fully. You don’t have to take photos of every meal you eat. Put away your phone and enjoy the company of your loved ones. Stop running around quenching other people’s fires. Stop being available for rubbish. You don’t always have to be the strong friend. Rest your eyes, your mind and your body. Rest, sisters, rest.
The secret of your success is found in your daily routine, so make sure you’re working everyday to become your best and most confident self.
